Sister tiles
Born together. Separated once.
A sister pair is two ceramic tiles that were one surface until a single body of colour came apart along its own fault. Each keeps what the colour chose to leave her. They have no other match in the world, and they are never sold apart.

The pair is one object
Until the moment of division the two tiles were a single surface. Everything that follows — the mirrored blooms, the interlocking reliefs, the two poems and the one track — is a record of that surface coming apart. The pair is sold only together. Each tile's only sibling is the one she was born with.

The clay had a life before
The supports are reclaimed Spanish ceramic tiles — vintage bisques gathered rather than bought new, 20 × 20 centimetres and eight millimetres thick. Turn one over and the older ones still carry a "Made in Spain" stamp pressed into the clay. A wall, a floor, a kitchen somewhere in Spain: that life is present in every pair as a quiet fact.

One moment
How they come to be is not a method to be explained but an instant to be witnessed. Pressure, a colour still alive, and one irreversible division — and where it blooms, tears and pools in that instant is not chosen. Two pairs made the same afternoon with the same pigments do not resemble each other.

The relief is the record
The ridges and valleys are not texture applied to the work. They are the physical trace of that division — and read close up they become topography: contour lines, watersheds, coastlines seen from above. Every pair is photographed at full resolution and can be explored in deep zoom and in three dimensions, from either sister's side.

Sealed for life
Once dry, each face is finished under a high-durability matte varnish. The relief keeps the depth of the paint without a shine on it, and the surface is waterproof: a pair can hang in a bathroom, a kitchen or by a pool and be wiped clean.
